How to Apply
Scholarship applicants must complete an online application available at www.ncfmhc.org .
Only one application is necessary to be considered for all available scholarships. Applications will be evaluated on the basis of the criteria for each fund.
Incomplete application packets will not be considered.
Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on May 31, 2019. Applicants are notified in writing regarding the status of their application. For more information contact the New College Foundation at 276-403-4445 or 134 East Church St. Suite 225, Martinsville, VA 24112.
The application must include all of the following:
- two letters of recommendation from individuals, other than relatives, who are familiar with the applicant’s qualities and character
- one community service verification form signed by the organization's representative (obtained here - PDF, Word)
- official transcripts may be emailed or mailed from the university to Sandra Weaver at firstname.lastname@example.org.
When completing the application online, please be sure to have all the above information available for upload prior to filling out the application. Applications cannot be saved and returned to later.
Applications are evaluated by the New College Foundation Scholarship Committee on the basis of academic and work history, community service, personal statements, and leadership attributes. In addition, other criteria may be set by scholarship donors for specific awards.
